Death After September 2023 (Outside of Craven County)
We are able to issue a certified copy of a death certificate for a total of $24. $10 is for the certified copy and $14 is for the search fee that NC Vital Records charges us. We only do this in person and it takes about 15 minutes for us to issue the certified copy.
Death Before September 2023 (Outside of Craven County)

Death Outside NC
You will need to contact whichever local or state entity that issues vital records. Click here to look for the various state vital record organizations.
NOTE:
This site can help you find the state organization that issues the vital records. It is generally advised that you find the most local agency (i.e. county or city rather than state) in order to get the quickest service. Not always, but most of the state vital records organizations can take months to get a certificate whereas most of the local governments are much quicker.
