Craven County Water offers several different ways for customers to make their payments.

In-Person

  • Customers may come into the office at 2830 Neuse Blvd in New Bern and pay with cash, check, or money order. If it is after business hours, we have a drop box where customers may drop their check or money order ONLY. Do not deposit cash in the drop box.
  • Customers may mail checks or money orders to the address provided on their bill. Please include the payment stub from the bottom of your bill to expedite processing.

Online

Introducing Online BillPay through Tyler Technologies! By creating an online account, you can view your water account details and manage single and multi-accounts, multi-bill pay, and e-billing.

Online Water Billing Management Portal

To get started with your online account, you'll need the following items: your account number and customer number (found on your bill); payment method (debit card, credit card, bank account information); email address (for account management).

Would you prefer to make one-time payments? When accessing the payment portal, ensure your account number is available. No login is required for one-time payments.

Payment TypeFee
Debit Card3.95% (min. $2.50)
Credit Card3.95% (min. $2.50)
Payer eCheck/ACH Processing$1.95

Wal-Mart

  • Customers may pay at Wal-Mart through the Wal-Mart Money Center, which opens a new window. They must have a copy of their current bill and can pay using cash or a debit card. Wal-Mart charges a fee based on delivery time. Please remember that holidays may delay your receipt of payment from our office. Since Wal-Mart is a separate entity, once a customer has made a payment, they MUST CALL THE OFFICE with their confirmation number. This will be printed on your receipt.
  • Wal-Mart uses a payment system called Check-free. Many other entities use this system; however, Wal-Mart is the only entity that can give the customer a confirmation number so that we can validate the payment through Check-free. Customers are welcome to use other Check-free vendors, but we cannot anticipate those payments, and there will be different processing times and fees.

Further Information

Please note: Customers cannot pay any Check-free entity for service connections.

**Craven County is not responsible for any additional charges or disconnections due to a customer’s failure to make notification of transactions by other parties or entities.**
