The Craven County Tax Department is conducting a countywide revaluation of all real estate property for Tax Year 2028. Revaluation is required at least every eight years by North Carolina General Statutes. The revaluation is critical in assuring that all properties are appraised at their current fair market value. The revaluation is the foundation of creating an equitable and fair distribution of all taxpayer’s property tax responsibility. The last revaluation was completed in 2023.
