We offer financial counseling on patient accounts. Monthly payment plans are available for those patients who are unable to pay at time of service. Delinquent patient accounts are submitted to the North Carolina Debt Set-Off Program.
Our office files patient insurance claims. We also accept credit card payments at our check-out locations for a minimal charge to our customers.
Vendor services requiring payment must first be processed through our department. Upon verification of validated payment, the source document is sent to our County Finance Department for check writing.
Reimbursement for services through the Division of Medicaid Assistance is a significant revenue funding source for the Health Department.
Current and past patient records are on file in our central file room. Our Processing Unit Supervisor is available daily to entertain questions regarding patient record transfers in or out of the Health Department.
Our Health Department is currently ranked in the Top Ten in the State for consistently exceeding the required filing times for both Birth and Death certificates. Please direct questions to our Deputy Registrar who can be reached through our main switchboard at 252 636-4920.
Our Health Department has a full time housekeeper who keeps the Health Department clean and sanitized daily. During your visit at the Health Department should you note areas for improvement, please contact the Administrative Officer.
