MPI Group, a manufacturer of custom lamination and processing equipment, recently finished work on its first custom project, a flame lamination machine that will be used to manufacture car seats for Tesla, the Palo Alto, California-based company co-founded by Elon Musk. The machine produces car seat lamination through a process that melts foam and marries it to vinyl fabric used in the seats. The work was contracted through Bondtex, Inc. out of Greer, South Carolina, which has been a customer of MPI Group, which formerly operated under the name McGuckin & Pyle, for 25 years. >>READ MORE
