Craven County has 2,230 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of 11:30 a.m. on October 26, 2020. Of the newest cases, 44 were confirmed on October 23, 2020, two on October 24, 2020, four on October 25, 2020, and 11 today. Out of the 2,230 confirmed positive cases, 1,942 of those individuals have recovered, are doing well, and are out of isolation. The recovered cases completed the necessary isolation requirement and have been free of COVID-19 symptoms for at least 24 hours. Of the 2,230 cases, 25 have been related to out of state travel, 450 are from community transmission, 1,475 are a direct contact with a previously confirmed positive case, 88 are still being investigated, and 192 are unknown. There have been 60 deaths related to COVID-19. Nine of the active COVID-19 cases are currently hospitalized.
Three additional Craven County residents have died from complications related to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The fifty-eighth Craven County resident died on October 23, 2020. The individual was tested for COVID-19 on October 20, 2020 and resulted positive the same day. The fifty-ninth Craven County resident died on October 25, 2020. The individual was tested for COVID-19 on October 23, 2020 and resulted positive the same day. The sixtieth Craven County resident died on October 25, 2020. The individual was tested for COVID-19 on October 23, 2020 and resulted positive the same day. All three deaths were reported to the Craven County Health Department on October 26, 2020. Each individual had underlying health conditions. To protect the privacy of each individual’s family, no further information about the individuals will be released.
