The application period for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) Hurricane Florence DR-4393 is now open. Craven County will be sending Letters of Interest (LOI) to North Carolina Emergency Management (NCEM) for possible inclusion in the State’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). Residents whose homes were damaged during Hurricane Florence interested in elevation, acquisition (buyout) or mitigation/reconstruction (demolish/rebuild) must contact the Craven County Planning and Inspections office no later than close of business February 1, 2019. Craven County’s priorities for Hurricane Florence are: Residential Mitigation such as acquisition, elevation and mitigation/reconstruction. Projects will be rated, prioritized and screened for cost-effectiveness by North Carolina Emergency Management (NCEM) Mitigation Staff.
