This Summer (August 26, 2019 - September 28, 2019) Craven County will be preparing for a new Curbside Recycling Program!
During the preparation period, new Recycling Carts will be dropped off at each residence registered with the recycling program. Though the new Carts will be dropped off through the end of the summer, they will not be serviced by recycling officials until the official initiation of the new program on October 26. Residents are asked to continue using their smalled 18-gallon bins until the new program has officially begun.
The new Recycling Carts will hold 96-gallons in volume and have wheels and a handle for easy use! If you do not wish to receive a new Cart, please call Craven County's Department of Solid Waste & Recycling at 252-636-6659. They will be happy to answer any and all question you may have about the new system as well as amend the list of registered users if you would like to be removed.
In light of the significantly larger bins and to continue offering competitively priced curbside recycling service to all Craven County residents, recycling pickups will be reduced to once a month. Convenience Sites will continue to remain open at their usual hours and will continue to offer recycling services at no additional charge to all Craven County residents.
