The Nutrition Program offers services to Craven County residents of all ages and income levels.

Services include:

WIC - The program is designed for pregnant, postpartum, and nursing mothers, infants and children under five years of age. This special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children provides supplemental foods, breast-feeding supplies and professional nutritional counseling. To be eligible you must meet income requirements and be seen by a nutritionist.

Individual Nutrition Counseling - Offered to adults and children of all ages by appointment. Other nutrition information is provided at health fairs and at community events.

Diabetes Self Management Education - We offer Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) to help people with type 1, 2 or gestational diabetes, better manage their disease and prevent complications.  For more information about this program please contact Lisa Mayo, RD, LDN at 252-636-4920 Ext. 2077.
